Why does ROM Manager ask for account permissions?
Web Connect only needs to access your Google account to connect it to your google account. It can't access any private data or passwords.

Troubleshooting:
Droid users: Stuck at the "M" logo? Flash an alternate recovery and flash back to ClockworkMod.
HTC Users: Flash recovery not working? Try fastbooting a recovery on.
Droid X/2/Pro Users: You must run the Bootstrap application first to use ROM Manager.
Samsung users: You must flash a Clockwork compatible kernel first (see XDA forums)

Root Checker is a quick to use if in order to check if your phone has root access after your first attempt at rooting your phone. This application displays verbose information that is needed in order to check if your phone is truthfully root.

Root Checker checks for root on your phone and has the following features:

- SuperUser Location
- Su and Sudo Location
- Environment Variables

Root Checker was made for users to easily check for root user access(super user) on their phones! This will notify users of the information listed(above). This is a simple application that root access by accessing the "su" binary that is installed on a user's phone when rooting their phone. Also, the application, "SuperUser" must be installed and working properly as well in order for the process to work.
When running the application, the user will be prompted with SuperUser asking for root access on their device and the information showing root access will be displayed.

This application, Root Checker (Basic), will allow the user to confirm they have proper root ( superuser ) access configured and operational.

The goal of this application is to provide even the newest Android user with a simple method to check their device for root access.
This is a very simple application to notify the user whether or not they have properly setup root access.
This application will test the device for root access. Very simple, quick and reliable test method to check for root access. The su binary is the most common binary used on Android devices to grant root access. This application will check and verify the su binary located on the device. The test this application runs confirms proper permissions and flags on the su binary.
Gaining root access varies based on manufacturer, model, and carrier. If you're searching for root access to your device, this application will not help you. If you're interested in rooting your device, please use Google.com to find the appropriate rooting support areas for your specific device. Other popular web sites which provide rooting guides are Forum.xda-developers.com .

If the Superuser application is installed and working properly, it will prompt whether to accept or deny the request. Accepting the request will allow Root Checker to check for root access. Denying the request will result in Root Checker reporting no root access.
